The National Coal Mining Museum for England is located on the A642 halfway between Wakefield and Huddersfield with easy signposted access from the M1 and M62. The nearest mainline railway station is Wakefield Westgate. From Wakefield or Huddersfield, the Yorkshire Traction 232 bus stops at the Reindeer pub with a short walk to the Museum.

The museum is free to enter and is well worth a day out. Don’t miss the visit underground.
