Hollingwood Common Canal & Mine.
I found some old video footage from
the Chesterfield Canal circa 1990 as the area was being opencast.
It shows the Hollingwood common
Canal.
Note that it is a later part in
brick as this area has been altered at least twice over the years.

The brick may be a repair to the
entrance but you can see the silting of the tunnel.

Possibly stone lined and not
brick walls looking into the tunnel from the side and part of Staveley Works Canteen
before it was demolished.

Silted up from any angle.
This old bridge is no longer there
as was said to be unsafe.
I am sure there was a date on this
somewhere.

Opencast Operations to remove the
last of the surface seams. Looking back to the offices.
The canal was landscaped and dredged
as part of the opencast brief.
